Designed for ages ten and older, this marvel-of-the-skies transforms in midair with the push of a "morph" button that propels it forward from a hovering position with incredible velocity. Ideal for play in a neighborhood park or spacious backyard, kids can put on a show with this remote control plane. | Switchblade Ages:10+

- Screwdriver for battery installation

Plug the charge nozzle into the plane's charge port and the plane will be ready to fly in 30 minutes. View larger. | Prepare for Take-Off With a 17-inch wingspan, durable polyfoam construction, and black-and-yellow designs, this remote-control plane can hover in mid-air and then transform to fly like a jet. The remote control features a throttle, direction toggle, trim knob, and "morph" button, making it easy for junior aviators to pilot the Switchblade from up to 300 feet (91 meters) away. Before take-off, adults should install the controller/charger's eight "AA" batteries (not included), then plug the charge nozzle into the plane's charge port. In approximately 30 minutes, a flashing green light on the controller, indicates the plane is ready. First-time pilots then adjust the controller's trim knob to make the plane hover, rather than spin. Take to the Skies like a UFO The Switchblade is ideal for use in a neighborhood park or spacious backyard. Pilots can position the plane on the included launch base for take-off, or simply release it by hand. Arrows on the plane's body show what direction to rotate the plane's wings so that the propellers are facing opposite directions. When the trim is properly adjusted, the plane will ascend with ease. Fly with the Stealth of a Jet Plane The plane's steady ascension is a marvel to watch, but it hardly compares to the sudden midair transformation that takes place at the touch of the "morph" button. Instantly, the plane shoots forward with remarkable speed. From there, it's up to you to steer it safely. The Switchblade should be piloted over grassy areas in temperatures of 45 degrees Fahrenheit or above for safe flying and optimal performance. In the event of an accidental air collision or landing mishap, a piece of tape is usually sufficient for repair. The plane also comes with four replacement propellers which should be installed with adult supervision. What's in the Box Switchblade remote-control plane (Black & Yellow), controller/charger, controller antenna, launch base, wind speed/direction ribbon, four spare propellers, and instruction manual.

Sux July 30, 2010 Sid Gunter (LAKEVILLE, MN, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Paid $12.48 and feel ripped off. It won't stay in the air. Flies for about 20 feet then into the ground. It will take off in hover mode, but as soon as you morph it into the ground it goes. What a waste of 8 AAs.
It's a fixer uper, but when all is said and done, it flies great. July 28, 2010 T. Weiler (usa) I bought this Switchblade at a Target on Clearance. I quickly discovered why. It was a HORRIBLE flyer out of the box. After tossing around some ideas, I decided to do some research, and I found my problem on RC Fourms. The soldered wire on the motors of the plane had broken off. After fixing one motor, I took it out and it flew EXPERTLY...untill a heavy crash knocked out the other motor wire. Fixed that up and now I'm waiting for conditions to be optimal for another flight. I see it's potential, and it's very high. If it's on sale for less than thirty dollars and you have a soldering iorn, go for it, BUY IT and fix it up. I promise, you won't be dissapointed.
do not buy the air hogs swichblade June 19, 2010 Pamela Vossen 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Do not buy this product. The only reson i gave it a educational value is it teaches you a slim bit of what you need to learn to fly a real rc plane [ I know what it is like flying real rc planes] if want to start flying for real and don't want to spend 350 dollers + the battery wich is about 100 dollers then buy this then it will bomb you crerer and you will hate flying. I've always been into rc stuff and this is about the worst thing the is in rc planes. (realy airhogs arent good) you CAN NOT TAKE of from the luncher pereiod. you CAN NOT swich in mid air. it is not safe my dad hand luched it and the porpeller hit me in the heead i almost had to go to the er. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This thing is CRAP May 14, 2010 Elliot Scribner I Bought this toy at a target for 50$!!! I thought it would be pretty cool and I was excited to go home and try it out. I finaly waited the charge cycle and then took it to the park. I flew it once up about 15 feet and then tried to morph. It morphed and then tanked into the ground. We tried again and this time it wouldent even leave 5 feet off the ground. I thought the battery was null so I went home and tried to charge it again. I went back and it still dident do verry well. we tried to hand launch it and it was worse it wouldent go 7 feet before charging strait into the ground. I brought it home and put it in the box. Then I called air hogs and i asked them why it wasnt flying. The attendant said that they wearnt for highter elavations (and I live at 5,000 Feet) so I asked her why it dident say so on the site before I ordered it. She said We just want to get your money!!! I told her that I was done with airhogs and slammed the phone down. DONT EVER BUY THIS PRODUCT OR ANY PRODUCT FROM AIR HOGS ESPECIALY IF YOU LIVE AT ELAVATION!
Waste of money April 30, 2010 J. Yergin (Atlanta, GA) Honestly, the Airhogs Switchblade was a complete waste of money. You win some and lose some and I have to admit I lost on this one. My Switchblade wont even fly in hover mode because it doesn't have enough power to keep itself up. I can toss it up as hard as I can and it will sometimes climb for a brief moment but it ALWAYS comes right back down despite how I have the stick fully depressed. Sometimes it drops like a brick and then others it will ease itself down very slowly but it absolutely doesn't fly. In "jet" mode all it does is divebomb, every time, end of story. I have no control of the planes pitch so I've never even had a chance to see if I can change directions. After attempting to fly the Switchblade 10 or 20 times my right engine froze up on me so now I have a single engine Switchblade that is pretty much worthless. I've seen videos where people can fly theirs but mine was either a complete lemon or Airhogs just pushes out bad products. Either way I wouldn't tell a friend or even an enemy to buy this thing because it's just that bad.
