5 out of 5 stars This plane rocks!   April 7, 2010

This plane was far better than I expected. My 8 year old son bought this with his holiday money and I was nervous that it would be a big flop. The instructions were very clear and we were able to give the plane an initial charge in about 20 minutes. There was nothing to assemble, except for putting new batteries in. We took it to an open field to try it out. The first run went up and then straight down, and I had a bad feeling, but the second run took off and stayed up in the air for about 3-4 minutes. It was amazing, we were all cheering for it while it flew. The charge in the plane lasted for about 15 minutes, then we recharged it on the spot (the charger is in the remote control) and flew it some more. On my son's longest run, he had it in the air for about 6-7 minutes.

There's only a few downsides to the plane. First, you really do need a large open space to be able to fly it without worrying about getting it stuck on a roof or in a tree. Second, it takes some time to get a real feel for the plane and how to control it. It does have decent control, but the remote only has a thrust control to signal the fans in the wings to go, and a left and right stick to toggle power to one fan or the other. There's no climb or descend control, and there's no pitch and yaw. But hey, it's $35, and it lets you try out actually flying a remote control plane without sinking a lot of money into a full RC hobby plane. On top of that, the plane is very durable. You couuld crash this thing as hard as you want and it keeps going. I was extremely impressed, I think you will be too.

Here are some comments from my son after two sessions of flying the plane:

I think the plane is so much fun. When I got it I though I was going to play with it once. The first day I flew it the plane was so much fun .We flew it the next day I knew more about it and I could do loops and tricks. I think this is the best toy ever!
